The first film of Krzysztof Kieślowski‘s Three Colors trilogy, Blue tells the story of gaining freedom from the past through confronting grief, letting the pain go, and starting to look forward. Each of these three films is associated with different colors of the French tricolor and the ideals of the French Revolution. Blue represents the idea of Liberty.
